Christine Tisa (Tisa), Painter, Yoga, Teacher

Color in all it’s application has been a fascinating study for Tisa. Like many artists, many subjects, from huge flowers to ocean-going ships, from animals to abstracts. As she experiments in several media and depicts these as she is painting, she will be ever evolving in new venues, new color studies, and different media.

Christine’s Bio.

Christine Tisa has been teaching painting, yoga, and mindfulness in the Thousand Islands and Costa Rica for many years. Her painting background includes her color studies under Donald Hall’s Atelier in Rudolf Steiner’s color and painting approach. These studies give her the inspiration for her larger body of work. With an MFA in Painting and a Yoga Certification, Tisa, as she is known, relocated to Clayton in 2015, having taught art in Utica, NY for several years and at Alexandria Central School before that.

Her travels to Italy, Spain, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, St. Lucia have enlivened and influenced much of her recent work. Although her art often does not depict typical St. Lawrence River scenes, some local features are woven into paintings. By the very nature of her unique, colorful style, she invites others to explore their own creativity.
