Artist’s Statement ;
“I am a retired person who is an Artist. I have had numerous job positions involving having an Art background. I have a B.A. in Art and Education from Johnson State College, VT. I have 30 graduate hours from SUNY Cortland in Art and Education. I have my New York State Permanent Certification as an Art Teacher K-12.
I have placed paintings in numerous Art Shows in Northern New York State, from Schenectady, Amsterdam, Hagaman, Clayton, Saratoga, , Sackets Harbor, and Old Forge , NY are some of the places I have participated in their Art Shows. Recent awards are: 1st place in Oil at Northern New York Art’s Council fall art show 2015: 2nd and 3rd Place in Sackets Harbor AANY Plein Air events 2015 and 2017 respectively.
My main style is Impressionism, in plein air, and some studio. I have also worked in a Realistic style, from the Renaissance to present day realism. I use mostly acrylic and oils however, I do use watercolors, and watercolor pencils on occasion. Once in a great while I use egg tempera but it is very time sensitive and for some reason I work slowly and sometimes have three paintings going at one time and one will sit for quite a while before I work on it again. Rotten eggs, smell!!!! smile, chuckle.
I sell paintings at local Arts and Crafts shows and at my location in the thousand islands region of northern NY in the summer. “
